2011 in Numbers

It’s getting a bit late for New Year’s resolutions (not that I make those anyway), but I’m catching up with blogging and one post I’ve been meaning to do is a list of some statistics for 2011. I’ll make it brief, since I’ve got a bunch of other posts lined up (so stay tuned)!

Work
Last year I gave six professional talks and published three papers: a Commentary on Kathrin Koslicki’s The Structure of Objects, a paper called ‘A Priori and A Posteriori: A Bootstrapping Relationship‘, and another one called ‘On the Common Sense Argument for Monism‘ (written with Donnchadh O’Conaill). My CUP volume, Contemporary Aristotelian Metaphysics also saw the light of day, although it’s official publication year is 2012. Should be publishing more I guess, but I do have a bunch of forthcoming stuff for 2012 already.

Running
In 2011, I ran a total of 2.314 miles (or 3,724 km) in 267 sessions, which is a good hundred miles more that my minimal target for the year, and some 600 miles more than in 2010. The year was full of ups and downs in terms of running, but I’ll write about that in more detail in a dedicated post. The average distance of my runs was 13,87 km, my longest run being 58,56 km. All this running took me 311 hours and 30 minutes, making the average speed 11,9 km/h.

I did all sorts of other exercise as well (gym work, cycling, swimming, bouldering etc.) amounting to a total of ~183 hours, so nearly 500 hours of exercise in total last year! That’s almost three weeks…

TTahko.net
I was quite active with the website last year, especially towards the end of the year. I integrated my website and blog and started blogging much more frequently. Hence, it’s not surprising that the total number of visits to my site went up from 2010 by over 20k to 70,963 visits. The site received 1,445,734 hits and the server shifted a total of 420.69 GB of data. The US is at the top of the visitor list, followed by Finland, the UK, Germany, and Russia.

Interestingly, the most popular post was the announcement concerning my volume, which was also the most popular post in 2010! It received 2,536 views. That’s one of the things that people hit when they Google the name of volume of course, but the post is actually from 2009, when I first received the contract for the volume. I suppose I’d better update that post with a link to more recent information…
